While studying City and Guilds embroidery at the London College of Fashion, I covered a wide range of techniques and experimented with various materials.I discovered a way of cutting and manipulating paper and fabric and using stitches to create three-dimensional shapes and have developed variations on this. More recently, I have been using my computer to produce flat designs which I then turn into three-dimensional shapes by cutting, folding and stitching.I am currently researching techniques which join one component to another using yarn, cord or rope and hope to write a book called “Connecting Threads”.
