I started doing creative embroidery in the late 1960’s at Withington College, Manchester. My inspiring teacher was Anna Wilson, who had studied at Goldsmith’s with Constance Howard. I later studied weaving with Elda Abramsen, and subsequently taught creative embroidery, myself, in adult education.
I use both weaving and embroidery techniques in my work. Recent pieces are mainly items of jewellery, incorporating a variety of materials, such as feathers, leather and beads.
I have exhibited widely over several decades in both Norway and the U.K. My last solo show was in Llanbeddrog in Wales.
I am a member of the EG and NEG.
