I began working life as a teacher of natural sciences, specialising in Geology. My textiles are often inspired by my love of landscape and its detail, which I frequently photograph when out walking and travelling. Intuitively I respond to layer and line, colour and pattern.
My textiles are also influenced by my research of stitch traditions which I find give me endless scope to be inventive. Themes I have pursued range from English samplers and Kuna Indian mola work to Tree of Life symbolism.
I have exhibited locally and nationally for some years and regularly give talks and lead workshops.
