My first adventure into stitching was to make gas mask cases in 1938 on Singer’s first domestic electric sewing machine.  My mother’s purchase allowed me to have free lessons in machine embroidery, a skill reawakened when I studied at Beckenham AEI, where my love of hand stitching developed and I started felt making.  I joined the EG, NEG, Textile Studio and International Feltmakers’ Association.  I have exhibited widely with these groups.

I enjoy all types of stitch, with my designs tending towards the abstract.  Embroidered book covers and three dimensional stitched forms in fabric and felt are a recent interest.
