I like squares and parallel lines.  I think the tension generated by repeated parallel lines is exciting.

I am inspired by woven fabrics.  I like the way they pleat, fold and drape.  I am especially in love with fabrics made from silk threads.  I am constantly amazed by the way the colours alter as the light changes.

My current work is about layers of fabric, particularly organza, as it makes subtle changes to the colours around it.  The layers are held together by straight rows of machine stitching.  Sometimes the thread of the stitching affects the fabric, but sometimes not.
