Needles and threads have always been part of my life, from growing up in East Africa, where I had to make my own clothes, through many yards of curtain making as a young wife, to quilting in Canada and joining an embroidery class on return to London in the early 1980’s. There I discovered the delights and challenges of the many different ways of using fabric and threads to create something beautiful and satisfying.
