I am inspired by written and spoken language, the issues of communication and interpretation, and how these shape relationships. I am fascinated by the patterns and shapes in writing, and by personal accounts, stories and memories passed on through generations but located within a particular historical and social context.
My current work is based on words, beginning with an idea, quotation or thought, which may be in part concealed or distorted, to become a design element rather than a bald message. Often, personal thoughts are expressed then concealed as a piece of work progresses.
