Exhibition at the Knitting and Stitching Show 2008 celebrating 40 years of the New Embroidery Group

For this exhibition, at Birmingham NEC, Alexandra Palace, and Harrogate, members were asked to create a banner/hanging 50cms wide by 2m long. A bit of a challenge, but we think it was worth it.

Group Challenge. Members were each sent a square of yellow fabric on which they were to describe a word of their choice, using only red, blue, yellow, black and white. These squares were then joined together to make two panels. Margaret Hall-Townley has asked if they could be donated to the Constance Howard Textile Study Centre.
